Rock n' Roll Camp for Girls San Diego
Empowering Girls And Non-binary Youth Through Music
Applications for instrument preference are first come, first served. Your tuition must also be paid in full to be qualified for first come, first served. If your first choice of instrument is full, we will attempt to place you in your second or third choice or on the waiting list for your first.
In order for every camper to have the greatest experience it is important that they attend everyday from 9am-4pm. Remember…your new band needs you to help them ROCK!
Please be sure you will be able to commit to the full week with your new band! It is important that campers attend camp every day all day to receive the full empowerment camp experience and to be there for each other.
In support of inclusion and with the intent to provide equal opportunity we form bands by drawing names from a hat to form a full band. We hope this will encourage the campers to form new friendships and collaborations.
We kick off each day in a rock star celebration with high energy, hilarious and empowering assemblies by our talented and dedicated mentors. Then campers head to daily workshops that build skills that encourage self-expression. Examples of workshops are Songwriting, Self-Defense, Silk Screening T-shirts, “Her”story of Rock, Body Image & Identity, Drum Circle, Community Impact, Zine Making, and more!

GXRLS ROCK! Summer Camp hosted by Rock n’ Roll Camp for Girls San Diego is a week-long day camp where girls and non-binary youth ages 8-17 use music as a powerful way to communicate and collaborate while being guided by inspirational female and non-binary mentors. In one week, campers form bands, learn an instrument, write an original song and perform live for the community in a showcase event. They will also have the opportunity to attend a variety of workshops with topics related to being an empowered rocker!
Campers choose an instrument to play: vocals, guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, or drums. They receive instruction from an experienced female identified or non-binary mentor daily. We provide the instruments or you can bring your own electric guitar, electric bass guitar or electric keyboard (upon approval).
Camper bands are mentored by band coaching teams of inspirational musicians and singer-songwriters. They not only bring their music skills, but also tools to help the campers support each other and collaborate.
