WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT?
Our fun, interactive camp schedule: (on Zoom)
10am-1pm Monday - Friday with times for breaks
- 10am-11:30am Empowering Music Workshops & fun
- 11:45am-1pm Create & record your original songs with your Band & Band Coaches on Soundtrap
Please be sure you will be able to commit to the full week with your new band! It is important that campers attend camp every day to receive the full empowerment camp experience and to be there for each other.
WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY?
The following is our policy concerning tuition refunds:
- Cancellations before April 30th, 2021 are eligible for a 100% refund.
- Cancellations from May 1st, 2021 to May 31st, 2021 are eligible for a 50% refund.
- Starting June 1st, 2021 refunds are no longer offered.
Additional donations made beyond tuition payments are non-refundable.
WHAT IS INCLUDED?
Camp includes:
- A ukulele
- Daily music production instruction on Soundtrap
- Daily band collaboration with band coaches
- Daily empowerment workshops including: Songwriting, Vocals, Percussion and more!
- Supplies delivered to your home include: drum sticks, a songwriting journal and camp swag
- A band photo via Zoom
- Friday showcase via Zoom of all our original songs!

EMPOWERING WORKSHOPS & MORE!
We kick off each day in a rock star celebration with high energy, hilarious and empowering assemblies by our talented and dedicated mentors. Then campers head to daily workshops that build skills that encourage self-expression. Examples of workshops are Songwriting, Band Logo Design, Vocals, Percussion and more!

2021 Gxrls Rock! San Diego is a week-long online day camp hosted by Rock n’ Roll Camp for Girls San Diego where girls and/or non-binary gxrls use music as a powerful way to communicate and collaborate while being guided by inspirational female and/or non-binary mentors. In one week, campers form bands, learn to create music, write an original song, learn recording and rock a showcase via Zoom.
BAND FORMATION LOTTO!
In support of inclusion and with the intent to provide equal opportunity campers will form bands by drawing names from a hat to form a full band. We hope this will encourage the campers to form new friendships and collaborations.
BAND COACHING & SOUNDTRAP
Camper bands are mentored by band coaching teams of inspirational female and/or non-binary musicians and singer-songwriters. They not only bring their music skills, but also tools to help the campers support each other and collaborate as they create their original songs on Soundtrap.
What’s Soundtrap? Soundtrap is a freemium online cross-platform digital audio workstation for browsers that allows users to create music or podcasts. Gxrls Rock! Virtual Summer Camp will purchase subscriptions to allow our rockers to collaborate and create beats with their bands.

WHO CAN APPLY FOR CAMP?
2021 Gxrls Rock! San Diego is a week-long online day camp by Rock n’ Roll Camp for Girls San Diego where girls and/or non-binary gxrls use music as a powerful way to communicate and collaborate while being guided by inspirational female and/or non-binary mentors. There is no musical experience necessary.

HOW MUCH DOES CAMP COST?
Discount early bird registration:
March 29th, 2021 through May 21st, 2021 = $185 per camper.
All accepted early bird applicants must pay tuition in full by May 21st, 2021 in order to receive this reduced rate.
Regular rates:
Registration starting May 21st- June 25th, 2021 = $200 per camper.
Registration closes June 25th, 2021 to ensure all supplies can be delivered by the first day of camp.
Financial aid available.
WILL WE BE ASSIGNED AN “INSTRUMENT”?
Yes! While we will be creating music differently this year using Soundtrap, you will still be assigned a virtual instrument to help you create your original song with your band. You can also let us know if you are an experienced musician and have your own instrument at home you wish to use. However, we are unable to provide specific instrument instruction via Zoom.
Applications for instrument preference are first come, first served. Your tuition must also be paid in full to be qualified for first come, first served. If your first choice of instrument is full, we will attempt to place you in your second or third choice or on the waiting list for your first.
